Reading about fat acceptance, feminism and slut walks led me to opinions about alpha men, beta men and omega men. If we refer to the animal kingdom, specifically, to wolves and wild dog packs, there're always the strongest and the weakest. Only the strongest and the fittest get to mate.
This way, it ensures that the packs receive the best genes that give offspring and future generations the best possible chance of survival. So it is with this chain of thought about alpha, beta and omega men. Alpha being the strongest and omega the weakest. Naturally, the alpha men constantly poke fun at the beta and omega males.
This is perhaps most evident when one views the comments sections of blog entries regarding feminism, fat acceptance and slut walks. Perhaps there're more which I haven't read. If you wanna know more about the alpha, beta and omega males, just read the comments sections of such online write-ups. You'll understand better than whatever I can describe here.
Strangely, I dunno if I can be with an alpha male. Their views on feminism, fat acceptance and slut walks, I agree with. But their opinions on other matters, hmmm........ they sound just a tad chauvinist to me. The last thing I want is to be treated like crap and expected to be docile and demure and accept it.
It's fine to be loving and respectful of one's partner, but not when one is expected to be a doormat. I guess the bottom-line is, if both parties do our respective parts, we can get along pretty harmoniously. I've been with chauvanists and they pretty much suck :P
A strong guy is great and bonus if he knows how to treat a woman. And the woman knows how to be supportive in turn. We can't keep giving but not receiving, right? That wouldn't be loving, that would be utterly foolish!
