Slut walks are now prevalent amongst Western societies. In Asia, thank goodness, we still haven't seen the likes of it. Women stomp the streets wearing next to nothing - sometimes even topless - holding placards protesting against rape. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Let's see now. If we openly flaunt our wealth in a poverty-stricken district, are we putting ourselves at risk of robbery? Common sense, isn't it, of course we are! We're triggering people's survival instinct. They need to eat. They're starving. And they'll do almost anything to continue their existence or face death.
Similarly, if we parade around in the skimpiest of clothes, are we putting ourselves at risk of molest and rape? Of course we are! So now you know where I'm coming from, don't you? Sure, robbery and rape are crimes and should be condemned, their perpetrators punished. But it doesn't absolve the victims if they knowingly tempt fate in the first place.
There's a huge difference between being sexy and being slutty. And it all has to do with class. Sexy is accentuating and highlighting our assets in a tasteful manner. If we have nice legs, by all means wear a mini. But keep the rest of our body covered. We can reveal some shoulders or arms, but that's it.
However, some tarts think that, by letting it all hang out, it increases their sex appeal. Sorry sweethearts, it doesn't. It only increases slut appeal. And men, being men, see that you're disrespecting your bodies and respond accordingly. They're wrong to rape; I'm not denying that. But you're not exonerated from blame either.
If you haven't heard of slut walks, it isn't surprising. In Asia, women still retain virtues such as modesty. If you're interested to find out more about it, just Google slut walk. You'll be just as horrified as I am at what you'll see and read. Oddly, the most yucky people are fans of these grotesque events.
Oddballs we in Asia would rather avoid in person flock to these walks and proudly let it all hang out. The attention-seeking is pathetic and vomit-inducing. There's no sense blaming sane people from shunning them. After all, if they have no shame and such blatant disrespect for themselves, they have no right to demand any special treatment.
No wonder Americans and other caucasians are angry. There is no more class left in their societies. It's such a shame.
Signing Off,
Missy Adorabelle
